Monochrome done better

Looking at the last post I thought that the silver tie while being in the same color family and should therefore work, falls flat as it blends too much in color with the shirt.

Seeking out more contrast to get a little more pop with the tie you get something like this, )a wool solid charcoal grey tie):



True, I had swapped out the square for one with a little more color, but even without the colored square the darker tie does well alone.

Alternagtively here is dark grey (laced with brown and blue) with a splash of blue (the suit also has a splash of blue in there as well) tie.

Monochromania

Sometimes the mood calls for a monochromatic look.

Been There Round Two

Here are two more looks from the same jacket as yesterday that we did in the kids shop.

In both cases the square was added after for this site (we didnt do a square for the kids, except for in one instance and then I had to pull something from a private stash since the square had to fit into a size 6 kids jacket pocket.)

Here the burgundy shirt and rust tie work with high contrast against the black of the jacket.



And here the blue of the shirt and blue textured tie pick up on the blue stripe of the jacket.  Maybe tomorrow I will show you a closeup of the jacket and how the blue shows)



In all cases the square has all the right colors to match yet have some brightness to it.

Been there done that

A time ago, on the way out of my kids shop, I snapped three iffy"ish" pics of a beautiful black sportscoat from the Hickey Freeman His First line together with tie and shirt that I had paired.  The combo sold well, and here you see it with sportscoat.  The black coat has a blue stripe running through it which is why I put the light blue striped shirt in there as well.  Not that Black cant go with light blue, it can and does so well.  I just thought it so well matched.  Elegant and sharp.

The tie being burgundy and gold works into the black of the coat.  The square puts it all together with pretty mch all the colors combined.  A lovely square.

Seasons

Strange but true.  Lighter colors, seem to imply a sense of bright sun, freshness, outdoorsiness, hence the concept of Spring Colors (lighter, pastelly, fresher etc. ) exists.

By contrast, insert darker colors and get a sense of darkening skies, seriousness, Somberness and in general a more foreboding picture.

As far as seasons go I Personally prefer Fall. :-)

Grey and Brown around town

Grey as mentioned is a good versatile color.  It works well with blues, it works well with black it works werll with pretty much any and every color.

Here the suit itself is a grey and orangey brown.  I put it tiogether with the blue shirt and with the blue tie.  It looked nice before the lighting and digital camera hit it and then it looked like this:

Another Request

A customer wanted to know what to do with the following two ties so here goes:

The salmon tie goes with Black, with Navy, with Grey.

The Rose Pink as well.
